Waterfalls, Grottos, and a Lake at Twin Creek Farms by Caviness Landscape Design

At first glimpse, it hardly looks real like something from a fantasy realm. But the Twin Creek Farms pool and falls landscape by Caviness Landscape Design is a real project, as seen on HGTV’s “Cool Pools” program. This was also a second project for this particular family by Caviness; as the designers explain, “The client had an outdated pool and was open to the idea of coming up with something new that would not block the view of the lake and waterfall we had built for them a couple of years prior.…after they swam in our show pool and sat under the waterfall, it reminded them of their recent trip to Africa and Victoria Falls. We suggested the grotto, outdoor kitchen, a dry area in the grotto with a plasma television, and connecting the house to the lake with multiple entertainment areas.”

Ambitious ? Yes: the pool has a 44ʼ x 16ʼ deep end and 34ʼ x 24ʼ shallow end; stone steps; an expansive faux-rock grotto with three swim-through waterfalls, a swim-up bar  and that’s just the “wet” part. In the dry grotto is a kitchen with a 46” outdoor plasma TV with sound system. One natural waterfall cascades form the back side of the grotto into a stream that meanders down to an entertaining area by the fire pit and patio. And remember that first impression that this scene was the stuff of fantasy? The designer agrees: “As amazing as this project is during the day, when evening arrives this entire project takes on a whole new look…extensive up-lighting in the tree canopies and down-lighting to highlight the pathways and landscapes provide a magical environment.” Magical? Yes…but happily real, too.Waterfalls, Grottos, and a Lake at Twin Creek Farms by Caviness Landscape Design_4
