WORKER QUITS BY BAKING A CAKE AND WRITING RESIGNATION LETTER IN ICING (LET'S HOPE HE ISN’T MADE TO EAT HIS WORDS!)

A Border Agency employee stunned his bosses with bizarre resignation letter iced on to a cake.
Chris Holmes penned his resignation letter to the UK Border Agency at Stansted Airport on a homemade cake.
Chris Holmes, 31, who worked at Stansted Airport, tweeted a picture of the note to resign from his job and pursue his dream to run a bakery business.
Mr Homes said: 'I handed in the cake in person to the duty manager. I think he was pleasantly surprised.

'It was a passion cake - a carrot cake made with coconut, pecans, sultanas and orange buttercream.
'The lettering was a bit tricky because there were so many words and was quite fiddly.
The resignation seemed like the natural choice for a cakemaker with a whimsical sense of humour.
'I thought it was a good natured resignation and hopefully left a nice taste in their mouths.
'I’d been planning it for six-months but kept it to myself because I wasn’t sure when I would be leaving.'
'I’d been working with the UK Border Agency for around seven years and set up the cake business in July 2010.
'I decided that my passion lies with food and wanted to spend more time at home with my son Ben.'
The former civil servant stunned employees by adding a touching message to the confectionery.
He wrote: ‘Having recently become a father I now realise how precious life is and how important it is to spend my time doing something that makes me and other people happy.
‘For that reason I hereby give notice of my resignation, in order that I may devote my time and energy to my family, and to my cake business which has grown steadily over the past few years.

I wish the organisation and my colleagues the best for the future .
’The picture of the ‘resignation cake’ came to light when it was tweeted by his relative Stuart Jackson.
He tweeted: 'So, my brother-in-law has resigned from his 9-to-5 job in spectacular fashion. Jerry Maguire meets Masterchef.'
Bill Form, Border Force Assistant Director at Stansted, said: 'Chris handed in the cake, along with a more formal letter, yesterday. He leaves with our very best wishes and we wish him well for the future.
'IT IS IMPORTANT TO SPEND MY TIME DOING SOMETHING THAT MAKES ME HAPPY': THE CAKE RESIGNATION TEXT IN FULL
Icing on the cake: Chris Holmes (pictured) had previously worked at the UK Border Agency for 7 years but has now decided to focus on spending time with his family

Housewife Dies During Sexual Intercourse With Neighbour

This happened recently in Badagry area Lagos State, where a housewife died during sex with her neighbour, who is also married to another woman. The man, Lawrence Chukwuma, landed in trouble after he had sex with Mrs Lucy Joseph, 24 and the woman died in the process.
The incident happened at Oke-Morosun Magbon area of Badagry. On the fateful day, the 48-year old Chukwuma from Anambra State, southeast Nigeria, reportedly woke up early and pretended that he was going to pursue his business and later came back when his own wife and Lucy’s husband had gone out.
It was gathered that while Chukwuma and Lucy were having the best of time, she suddenly started breathing heavily and became unconscious. Before Lucy was taken to hospital, she had already died and the doctors merely confirmed her dead.
It was not certain what actually caused her death, but her body has been deposited at the Badagry General Hospital for autopsy. The matter was reported at the Badagary police division and Chukwuma, who also has three children, was arrested and the matter was transferred to SCID, Panti, Yaba for further investigation. After investigation, the police charged him to Ebute-meta Magistrate’s court for causing Lucy’s death through unlawful carnal knowledge of her. His plea was not taken.
The court ordered him to be remanded in prison custody at Ikoyi pending the outcome of the autopsy report and DPP’s advice. When P.M.NEWS visited the home of the deseased, the husband was not around to comment on the matter. The younger sister of the deseased, Blessing Ebieme, said she came from her house in Ikorodu area to Badagry to take care of the children Lucy left behind.
Lucy hailed from Eket in Akwa Ibom State and had three children, Joy, 12, Isaiah 10, and Miracle, 5.

YOUR FIRST TIME ALONE WITH THE BABY....DADS

If you are a new Dad, you are probably a little nervous about the first time you will be alone with the baby. Since the baby arrived, both she and your wife have been inseparable. After all, your partner is the mother; if she is breastfeeding, she is likely the baby's sole source of nourishment. And she has likely been the baby's major source of love, affection and care.

So now Mom decides to head off for a couple of hours of shopping or out to lunch with some friends, and you, dad, are about to experience your latest attempt at being a caregiver-alone with the baby.

Here are a few tips for preparing for and handling your first time as a sole caregiver.

PREPARING FOR THE EVENT

STOCK UP ON SUPPLIES: Babies tend to need lots of things to remain happy and comfortable. Make sure you have plenty of diapers on hand, along with the requisite wet wipes and baby ointment if needed. Nothing will make a baby unhappy more than having a wet or dirty diaper for an extended period. And make sure you have a bottle with formula or breastmilk available when she is hungry.

SET A TIMER: It is pretty easy to get involved with things and lose track of time. At least every hour, check that diaper. Every couple of hours, she will need a bottle. You ignore the clock at your own peril-and the baby's.

DON'T PLAN ON ANYTHING ELSE: Being caregiver for a newborn requires your full attention, at least while she is awake. Turn off the TV and the computer; don't plan on some uninterrupted time on the treadmill or in the kitchen. Make her your full focus, and enjoy the opportunity to bond.

WHILE YOU'RE IN CHARGE
PATIENCE, PATIENCE: Babies demand a lot of us when we are their main caregiver. But don't look for the quick fix if you are dealing with feeding, changing or helping her be calm or get to sleep. It can take a long time.

REMAIN CALM: One of the biggest tendencies dads have to face when caring for an infant is not being in control of the situation. Don't lose your cool even if she is not cooperative. Your time with her is not all about you-it is all about her!

WATCH FOR THE SIGNS: If your baby seems to cry a lot, you have to rule out the obvious. Check her diaper; try seeing if she will eat. If that's not it, it may be that she is tired, or that she is needing a little space, or she is just missing mom. Try to spend about 10 minutes at any one strategy; if it doesn't work, try another one. If she is tired, she will often fall asleep with a little walking and gentle bouncing on your shoulder. If she is needing a little space, ten minutes alone in her crib or bassinette will usually calm her down. If she needs her mom, try to comfort her and wait it out. Often a little quite music on the boombox or stereo will help calm your nerves and hers.
DON'T BE PROUD: If you can't find a solution to her distress, don't be too proud to call for some help. Call your wife; call your mother; call her mother; call a friend who has been there. But don't let yourself get angry or upset. The baby's needs come first.
WHEN MOM RETURNS

DON'T DROP BABY AND RUN: When mom comes home, she will probably want to hold and comfort the baby, even if she is happy and comfortable. Let mom do her thing, but take the time to stay with them for a few minutes as a family. It will help your mood and the baby's too.
TAKE A DEEP BREATH: Not just a sigh of relief, but take a moment to collect yourself. Remember any positive moments over the last few hours with your baby. Did you have a chance to gaze into her eyes or to get her to smile? Rejoice in those positives. If you had a hard time, share your experience with your partner and ask for ideas for next time.
REALIZE IT GETS BETTER: As baby starts to grow, the alone times will get better. Maintain your positive attitude and your hope, and you will find it easier and easier to be her sole caregiver, if only for a short time.

There is not much better in a dad's life than developing a relationship with his children; that process starts early in their lives. As you develop confidence and skill in your role, you will enjoy the process and the results more and more over time.

HE IS NOT THAT INTO YOU....OR SO I THINK!!!

Ladies, at one point or another, we’ve all had that “back up guy” on deck in case we needed a quick date or some male company. You know the type: he’s more than a friend but nowhere near anyone we can claim as our man. But have you ever wondered if you were someone else’s back up chick? In matters of the heart, lines can get blurred and many things can get lost in translation when you’re ignoring signs or being deceived, so here are some ways to tell if the guy you’re into is into you back, or if you’re simply his back up chick.

1.     He Doesn't Claim You: Some men will call you his “girl” in private, but never claim you in public. By this, I mean never introducing you to friends or family, no PDA and won’t be caught dead in any cute, cozy flicks on Instagram. I’m not saying you have to have a social media presence in order to be official, but if he doesn’t want anyone to know you exist and says it’s because he’s “private” and doesn’t want anyone all up in his business, what he’s REALLY saying is “I want to keep my options open.” You’re not the one…keep it moving.

2.    He Cancels Plans At The Last Minute: This guy only asked you to hang out because the woman he really wanted to go out with was unavailable. But then she became available, which means you are now getting the boot. If this happens often, it’s usually because something, or someone, better came along and he doesn’t need you to fall back on anymore. If it happens once, it’s nothing to get alarmed about. But if it happens often, you’re his back up chick…and you shouldn’t stand for it out of principal alone.

3.     He Just Wants To Be Friends (With Benefits): The most obvious way to tell you’re his back up chick is if he tells you he just wants to be friends, even after you’ve managed to sleep together already. Now this is where a woman has to be honest with herself because a lot of men will tell a woman upfront that they don’t want to be in a relationship with her or anyone else, but they think sex will change their mind. Ladies, not even MIND-BLOWING sex will make a man want to commit if he isn’t ready. Hell, he may be ready to commit, just not with you. If he says he just wants to be friends, believe him. If you can hand sex with no strings, cool…rock out. But if you want more, wait to see if that friendship has the potential to turn into something more before you give up the goodies.

4.     Makes Plans At The Last Minute: Just like the guy who cancels at the last minute, the man who uses you as his back up chick usually considers you his “Plan B” when his original plans fall through. He knows you’ll be at home waiting by the phone for him to call you to do something, so you keep your weekends free just in case he gets the urge to hit you up. If you recognize this behaviour in yourself, stop it and get a life. As the saying goes, don’t make a man a priority when he only considers you an option. Next time he calls with a last minute request to see you, be busy.

5.     He Says You Are Perfect For Someone Else: How many times have you been seeing a guy casually who complains that there are no good women out there when, in fact, you seem to be everything he’s looking for?  It’s frustrating when the guy you’re head over heels in love with can’t recognize a good thing when it’s staring him in the face, so you keep trying to show him how wonderful you are to no avail. He will tell you that you’re beautiful, intelligent, funny, hot, and everything that any man could ever want…just not him. What he’s saying is he’s just not that into you. If he keeps trying to push you onto someone else, then follow his lead and find a man who actually wants to be with you.

6.      He Openly Dates Other Women: Again, this is a no-brainer, but you’d be surprised how many women are in denial that they have a chance with a guy who openly talks about and dates other women. If you two have no real commitment and he has no problem discussing other women in front of you, you’re wasting your time hoping for a relationship with this guy. If he knows that you want more than a casual dating situation with him, yet flaunts other women in front of you anyway, he has no regard for your feelings.  In fact, wants you to know that you two are nowhere close to being in a committed relationship. He’s showing you who he is and what he does and does not want. Believe him!.

7.    He Never Returns Your Calls: Duh. If you are always calling him, only to get a response back from him days or weeks later, he’s not that into you. When a man is digging you, he can’t help but reach out to you to hear your voice, check up on you and see what you’re up to. But if days, weeks…months go by, and then he hits you up out of the blue like “what’s up…wanna hang out,” or drunk texts you asking if he can stop by, it is up to you to see the clear sign.  This basically means he’s in between girlfriends, his girlfriend is out of town, or he’s bored or horny and there is no one else to call. Block him.

8.     You Can't Spend The Night After Sex: If a man says you can’t stay over because he has to get up early or simply asks you to leave after having sex, you are a non-factor in his life. You should be able to at least get a good night’s rest after rolling around in the sheets and maybe even a bowl of cereal in the morning before you head out. But if he’s always got an excuse as to why you can’t stay, he’s using you for sex only or he’s afraid his REAL girlfriend will roll up on him and bust him. If he was really into you, he’d want you to stay so you could spoon all night. Have some dignity and never go back…and sleep in your own bed.

9.     He Always Comes To You After A Break Up: This is the guy who cries on your shoulders after some other no-good chick breaks his heart into a million little pieces…and he has yet to realize that you would never hurt him like that. He knows deep down inside that you are a good woman and would make a great wife one day, but rather than getting with you, he dates ratchet chicks and then wonders how he got played for a fool. He’s vulnerable, so he talks to you in romantic ways saying things like “why can’t all women be wonderful like you,” getting your hopes up that he’ll actually open his eyes and discover that you’re the one. He spends time with you while he heals and you take his mind off that wicked b–ch who broke his heart and you think he’ll pay you back with his undying love and devotion. Wake up, because that stuff only happens in your dreams or the movies. Once his wounds have healed and he’s over her, he doesn’t need you anymore…he’s on the prowl again looking for anyone but you. Next time he comes to you after a breakup, tell him you’d love to console him but you’ve got plans with your new man and he’ll have to get over it himself. You’re not his therapist, he’ll be alright.
