The beauty of sleep...Keep kids in their bedroom

My four-year-old daughter comes into our bedroom a few times every night. We've tried the Silent Return to bed, but after many trips to her room, we cave. Should we be more consistent?

We're not perfect. We're parents. That's real life. I think that when parents are perfect is if they are 80% consistent in how they respond to their children. But sometimes parents have to put forth extra effort in order to outlast unwanted behaviors. It's not easy to extinguish behaviors by ignoring them. Always remember that there is a direct connection between how you treat your children and how they behave.

Perhaps your son recently had some disruption of his schedule that got him off track. If you're caving after several Silent Returns to his bed, then you are teaching your son to try several times. Your son knows that he will hit the jackpot eventually. When mom or dad perseveres and always outlasts the child, then you will solve the sleep problem. If you stop rewarding the behavior, the behavior will disappear. My guess is that it will now take about 4-5 nights.

When sleeping is short from illnesses, vacations, or holidays, then immediately after the disruption passes, become super consistent (100%) with Silent Return to sleep and your child and family should recover within 1-2 nights. Don't delay or drag it out hoping for a miracle, because then when you do try it, it might take 4-5 nights

Meet Woman That Married Herself After Being Tired Of Waiting For Mr. Right!

Nadine Schweigert married herself in a beautiful ceremony attended by 300 guests.

The 36-year-old divorced mom of three wore blue satin and clutched a bouquet of white roses as she walked down the aisle before a gathering of 45 friends and family members in Fargo, North Dakota. She vowed to “to enjoy inhabiting my own life and to relish a lifelong love affair with my beautiful self”.

After the ring was exchanged with the bride and her inner-groom, guests were encouraged to “blow kisses at the world,” and later, eat cake.

“I feel very empowered, very happy, very joyous … I want to share that with people, and also the people that were in attendance, it’s a form of accountability,” Nadien Schweigert said.

Schweigert said the ceremony was a celebration of how far she’d come since her painful divorce six years ago that led to her two children to decide to live with her ex-husband.

The Kid With The Biggest Head In The World

 I don't know if this image is photoshop. I came across this picture of the kid with the biggest head in the world and I thought to share. There was no information on what caused it. If this is true, I wonder how he will be able to carry that head in his tiny frame.

Mom arrested for hiring strippers for 16yr old son's birthday party

For hiring strippers for her son's 16th birthday, a New York mum has been arrested and faces up to one year in prison if convicted.

33 year old Judy Viger hired two strippers (seen above with her son) to perform at her son's birthday, where there were plenty under age children. The mother of one of the party goers who found it inappropriate reported Judy to the police who arrested and charged her with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child. They said she endangered not only the welfare of her own child, but the welfare of the 14 and 15 year old children that were at the party. She will appear in court March 7th.

The idea of designing and decorting kids bedroom may not be so interesting because most us here at don’t have children yet, we don’t tend to focus on design for little ones yet. but, when we started building these best of  roundups, we couldn’t leave out these amazing rooms designed for kids! when i was building this post i couldn’t help but laugh because i could pretty much see myself living in any of these rooms! kids rooms sure have changed since i was young. enjoy and have fun with these spaces for children!!!

Managing hair extensions presents even more responsibilities than your natural hair. You need to be a little gentler with your extensions to extend the life and to keep them looking their best.

Your natural hair goes through a ton of abuse every day of the year and it can really withstand a good amount of damage over time. But extensions do not gain nutrients from your scalp so they are at least three times more susceptible to irreparable damage. While this may not seem like a big deal, because hair extensions are not with you forever, it does mean that they could fall out prematurely or need to be replaced.

Be sure to always wash your hair every day if you have hair extensions. Unwashed hair accumulates your body oils and it could compromise your extensions. All too often extensions fall out because of oily hair, and it’s a shame to have to have all new ones put back in because of a little negligence.

If you are considering human hair extensions, be sure to ask your stylist if it is possible to safely dye the brand they will be using. It is not possible to dye synthetics, but it is possible to dye human hair extensions. Some brands are pre-dyed, so if you happen to dye them it could severely damage the hair. If you forget to ask before having the extensions put it, it might be a good idea just to stick with your natural color for the time being.

It is completely possible to use heated styling tools on human extensions, but most synthetics will melt if subjected to high levels of heat. There are brands available these days that are safe to get hot, but their heat resistance is usually reflected in the price. A simple curling iron twist on zero resistance synthetic hair can melt a whole area of your extensions, and force you to get them completely redone.

It’s important to know both what kind of extensions you have and what brand they are. Brands can mean as much as the material, so get the full scoop on your extensions before having them attached and possibly making a mistake.

 

Hair Type Affects Extensions

No matter whether you have synthetic or human hair extensions, it is possible to run into some difficulties or discomfort with your new extensions. While long and beautiful hair is always tempting, knowing what you’re getting into before investing your time and money is always a good idea.

Removing extensions (especially removing them improperly)  is usually what causes the most damage to your natural hair, but some complications can arise before you even get a chance to have them removed. While having your hair extensions attached by an experienced stylist is a big part of reducing or preventing most problems inherent with extensions, there are some natural factors that cannot be helped.

If your hair is especially oily, hair extensions applied by weaving may not stay intact. The excess oil in your hair can cause the weave to simply slip loose and fall off. This is especially true for synthetic hair, as it is 3 times heavier than human hair extensions. Glued in extensions are not immune to excessive oils either. It is possible for the hold the glue has on your hair to weaken or slip over time. Cold fusion attachment techniques are best for those with oily hair.

Previously damaged or very thinned hair may fall out over time with heavy hair extensions. Ask your stylist if your hair can actually support extensions at all.

For the reasons above, it’s especially important to seek a consultation with an experienced stylist prior to making an official appointment. Finding out your exact hair type is crucial to determining which attachment method is best for your hair and your budget. Neglecting to make an informed decision on your hair extensions can yield less than perfect results.
