The Duro Olowu Spring 2014 RTW Collection is Eye Popping and Colorful

Nigerian designer, Duro Olowu, had prints “popping” in a myriad of dazzling colors at London Fashion Week. The bold designs of the Duro Olowu Spring 2014 RTW Collection are ones that even a blind man would notice. If you are wondering what it is like to be a ray of sunshine, wearing this collection will definitely help you feel the radiance. One may want to carry extra sets of sunglasses to protect onlookers from the bright reflections erupting from their outfit. According to Olowu, he wanted to create the “perfect cami”- “not too bare, or too short, or too long, that could be worn layered or on its own, and that had a bias-cut fit that just brushed the body”.

The collection, packed with the dramatic, threw  punches filled with flair. From fabulous patchwork, powerful capes, and beautiful floral print dresses, the collection can be described as nothing more than one-of-a-kind. Like an irresistible, but strange beat, one cannot help but tap your foot to the unique rhythm of the collection. Olowu may have proven once and for all that the seventies style is just as cool as the fifties flair and the roaring twenties vintage royalty. Delightful stripes are a staple of the collection with nominal regard for continuation of one particular design throughout a garment, but instead as many as humanly possible. The Duro Olowu Spring 2014 RTW Collection mismatch prints triumphed with glory and lovely imagination.

The Max Mara 2014 Spring RTW Collection Slips into Milan Fashion Week

The Max Mara 2014 Spring RTW Collection Slips into Milan Fashion Week_25

The Max Mara 2014 Spring RTW Collection Slips into Milan Fashion Week_24

This year’s collection is all about the slips. The Max Mara 2014 Spring RTW Collection has an urban feel and looks that scream chic, sleek, and city life. Prepare yourself for a stroll down Times Square, or perhaps let us mosey on down the Magnificent Mile. Think of a young and edgy Jackie-O to rock the style of this collection. Be sure to have a stylish pair of sunglasses ready, drop the roof of the car, you will feel like taking a long ride on a coastal highway, letting the wind flow through your hair. The retro-meets-new-school style of this collection is noteworthy, with a special twist on a slip wrap dress that is completely fashion-forward, giving a new definition to “spring forward”.

The collection is deliciously minimalist and monochrome though bursting with striking solid colors from time to time. Simply put, this collection is a girl’s dream if you love to accessorize. Let the exploration begin as the collection shifts from neutral shades to fabulous fun. Pull out the accessories drawer; it is time to go to work with color, texture, and everything in between. You can never go wrong with a great pencil skirt and a hot pair of shoes. The rompers and jumpsuits are fun and a terrific set up for a stand-out belt. The collection also shows a few references to inspiration from menswear if you care to incorporate oversized looks into your closet. The Max Mara 2014 Spring RTW Collection gives an adventurous fashionista plenty of room to play.

Waterfalls, Grottos, and a Lake at Twin Creek Farms by Caviness Landscape Design

Waterfalls, Grottos, and a Lake at Twin Creek Farms by Caviness Landscape Design_1

At first glimpse, it hardly looks real like something from a fantasy realm. But the Twin Creek Farms pool and falls landscape by Caviness Landscape Design is a real project, as seen on HGTV’s “Cool Pools” program. This was also a second project for this particular family by Caviness; as the designers explain, “The client had an outdated pool and was open to the idea of coming up with something new that would not block the view of the lake and waterfall we had built for them a couple of years prior.…after they swam in our show pool and sat under the waterfall, it reminded them of their recent trip to Africa and Victoria Falls. We suggested the grotto, outdoor kitchen, a dry area in the grotto with a plasma television, and connecting the house to the lake with multiple entertainment areas.”

Ambitious ? Yes: the pool has a 44ʼ x 16ʼ deep end and 34ʼ x 24ʼ shallow end; stone steps; an expansive faux-rock grotto with three swim-through waterfalls, a swim-up bar  and that’s just the “wet” part. In the dry grotto is a kitchen with a 46” outdoor plasma TV with sound system. One natural waterfall cascades form the back side of the grotto into a stream that meanders down to an entertaining area by the fire pit and patio. And remember that first impression that this scene was the stuff of fantasy? The designer agrees: “As amazing as this project is during the day, when evening arrives this entire project takes on a whole new look…extensive up-lighting in the tree canopies and down-lighting to highlight the pathways and landscapes provide a magical environment.” Magical? Yes…but happily real, too.Waterfalls, Grottos, and a Lake at Twin Creek Farms by Caviness Landscape Design_4

WORKER QUITS BY BAKING A CAKE AND WRITING RESIGNATION LETTER IN ICING (LET'S HOPE HE ISN’T MADE TO EAT HIS WORDS!)

A Border Agency employee stunned his bosses with bizarre resignation letter iced on to a cake.
Chris Holmes penned his resignation letter to the UK Border Agency at Stansted Airport on a homemade cake.
Chris Holmes, 31, who worked at Stansted Airport, tweeted a picture of the note to resign from his job and pursue his dream to run a bakery business.
Mr Homes said: 'I handed in the cake in person to the duty manager. I think he was pleasantly surprised.

'It was a passion cake - a carrot cake made with coconut, pecans, sultanas and orange buttercream.
'The lettering was a bit tricky because there were so many words and was quite fiddly.
The resignation seemed like the natural choice for a cakemaker with a whimsical sense of humour.
'I thought it was a good natured resignation and hopefully left a nice taste in their mouths.
'I’d been planning it for six-months but kept it to myself because I wasn’t sure when I would be leaving.'
'I’d been working with the UK Border Agency for around seven years and set up the cake business in July 2010.
'I decided that my passion lies with food and wanted to spend more time at home with my son Ben.'
The former civil servant stunned employees by adding a touching message to the confectionery.
He wrote: ‘Having recently become a father I now realise how precious life is and how important it is to spend my time doing something that makes me and other people happy.
‘For that reason I hereby give notice of my resignation, in order that I may devote my time and energy to my family, and to my cake business which has grown steadily over the past few years.

I wish the organisation and my colleagues the best for the future .
’The picture of the ‘resignation cake’ came to light when it was tweeted by his relative Stuart Jackson.
He tweeted: 'So, my brother-in-law has resigned from his 9-to-5 job in spectacular fashion. Jerry Maguire meets Masterchef.'
Bill Form, Border Force Assistant Director at Stansted, said: 'Chris handed in the cake, along with a more formal letter, yesterday. He leaves with our very best wishes and we wish him well for the future.
'IT IS IMPORTANT TO SPEND MY TIME DOING SOMETHING THAT MAKES ME HAPPY': THE CAKE RESIGNATION TEXT IN FULL
Icing on the cake: Chris Holmes (pictured) had previously worked at the UK Border Agency for 7 years but has now decided to focus on spending time with his family
To The Management,
Border Force, Stansted:
Today is my 31st birthday, and having recently become a father I now realise have precious life is and how important it is to spend my time doing something that makes me, and other people, happy.
For that reason I hereby give notice of my resignation, in order that I may devote my time and energy to my family, and to my cake business which has grown steadily over the past few years.
I wish the Organisation and my colleagues the best for the future and I remind you that, if you enjoy this cake, you can order more at www.mrcake.co.uk

DESIGNING THE PREFECT STUDY SPACE FOR YOUR KIDS

Designing study room for children, there are many things that need to be noticed such as safety and comfort, the selection of furniture (desks, chairs, lights, materials and quality). Need to remember that a comfortable study room (the sitting position, lights and etc) affect children’s learning spirit.
Think about where you would put the study room, in their bedroom, or in a special room. It’s better to combine the study room with the bedroom, take a special angle to places a table and a chair. Further is the layout of a table and a chair, if necessary you can add the element of edutainment. Put some cute toys near the desk will make the child not easily bored.
Design of the study room, in this case is the shape and color of furniture, choose a relaxed furniture, not too formal or stiff, if you like the luxury design, it’s fine.
Consider when you choose the furniture, security and comfort. Tables and chairs should have the size and height that can be adjusted with your child.
Lamp is the most important, place the lamp in the right place can be hung or put on the table, enough light directly to the object is very helpful for children to read and write.
Books are integral part of learning. They involve so many assets of what we are taught in school. Reading, writing, grammar, photography, illustration and even math when they are kept under the strict and manageable Dewey decimal classification. Bookshelves built in abstract designs filled with modern tales and classics available anytime all the time with no restrictions on due dates. And even though books are friends, owning your own library can help the study process by note jotting and highlighting key paragraphs, sentences or words in an effort to create your own spark notes
Below are the children’s study room design for your inspiration. Check these out
