Clara Chime, First Lady Of Enugu State, Begs Human Rights Groups To Release Her From House Arrest Imposed By Governor Sullivan Chime

Clara Chime, the First Lady of Enugu State, says Governor Sullivan Chime, has placed her under house arrest, and has cried out for assistance to reach human rights bodies to rescue her.

In a letter dripping with pain and suffering, Mrs. Chime disclosed that she married Mr. Chime in October 2008 but that she has been unable to share the matrimonial bed with him for over four years.
Describing her desperate situation, she said that even President Goodluck Jonathan and First Lady Patience Jonathan have intervened with her husband without success.

"My father is late, my Mum and few of my siblings are confused and have done all kinds of prayers they know of, 3 of my siblings prefers me dead than to see me leave the Government house.  He treats my Mum and my siblings bad," she wrote.
The Enugu State First Lady said she has been introduced to two psychiatrists whose names she gave as Dr. Onwukwe and Dr. Agumo, who have prescribed "all kinds of drugs that ends up keeping me acute depressed and also drives me into hallucinations."

The doctors, she noted, are scared of her husband the Governor, to whom nobody can tell the truth.
According to the letter, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu state (Callistus Onaga), and top priests have come to intervene, as have the President and the First Lady of the nation, without success.
Mrs. Chime further complains that Governor Chime has ordered her to leave with her four-year old son whom she conceived before their wedding.  However, the governor, according to her, later threatened to disown the boy should she leave with him.

"He has told everyone he can reach that there is no marriage between us that I can leave if I wish to but whenever I plan to leave he instructs them to lock me in.  I have told him through Sms that I will leave my son behind and leave alone but still he instructed his securities to lock me inside the house."

Mrs. Chime further complains she has lost touch with the real world and all that makes her beautiful because of the side effects of the drugs she is taking, stressing that she is under house arrest for committing no crime.

Of the situation in Government House, she said,
"He does not take care of me personally, the government gives me allowance to run the house and that's where I save little from to take care of my elf, my Mum and few of my siblings," she said in the letter.  He shut me out of his life years ago; I don't have access to his apartment. The problem is enormous; I don't know where to start to explain from."

She said that even the security detail in the lodge has resorted to praying for her, while the few that can be bought with money are taking advantage of the situation.
"Police and SS men have been instructed by Mr Sullivan Chime to confine me in a place for a long time now against my wish [but] it is my wish to leave these premises," she said, begging,

"Please assist me to reach to the human rights and say to them to please come hastily and release me."

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA TO BAN PURE WATER IN 2014

Determined to check the continued despoliation of the environment, the Federal Government yesterday said plans are underway to ban the use of plastic bags in the country.Minister of Environment, Mrs. Hadza Mailafia, who dropped the hint during the 2013 World Environment Day celebration in Abuja, said government would favour the use of paper bags in their place.Mailafia, who said the ban would take effect from January 2014, also said the Federal Government was also considering banning the use of sachet water.

According to her, the move to ban the plastic bags are necessitated by the numerous health and environmental hazards associated with their use.

The minister noted that unlike the paper bags that could easily decompose, plastic bags are non-biogradable materials which could stay in the soil for years, contaminating water sources when washed into the rivers by the rain.

Relying on the Food and Agriculture Organisation, FAO’s, statistics, the environment minister said one-third of global food production is wasted from farm to stock which is equivalent to 1.3 billion tonnes of food annually; while an estimated 870 million people go hungry worldwide. She said more than 20,000 children under the age of five also die daily from hunger.

I ROB BANKS; IT’S MY HOBBY, 78YR OLD MAN CONFESSES

78yr Old Dale E Jenkins

AN elderly man accused of robbing a San Diego bank wasn’t interested in remaining silent about his alleged crimes.

During his arrest, he blurted out to a TV reporter: “I rob banks. It’s my hobby,” and told the judge during his first court appearance: “I’m guilty as charged.”
Dale E Jenkins, 78, was arrested Monday for robbing a Comerica Bank branch by threatening to throw acid in the teller’s face, an online news media, SanDiego6.com reported.
During the robbery, he was dressed in a three-piece suit and fedora. After receiving his money, he allegedly left the bank carrying his ill-gotten loot in a rolling suitcase and was picked up two blocks away, another online news media, NBCSanDiego.com, reported.
Jenkins reportedly netted only $80 from the bank, but it was what he said to KGTV-TV reporter, Allison Ash, during his arrest that was truly priceless.
“I rob banks. It’s my hobby,” he said, adding that this robbery was his seventh. “Somebody needs to take care of the veterans in this country.”
Jenkins’ confession spree didn’t end there.
During his first court appearance on Tuesday, he blurted out to the judge, “I’m guilty as charged and do not want to go through any long trial. I can’t live on the streets anymore,” KGTV-TV reported.
The judge cut him off, warning him that anything he said will be used during a trial, according to the station.
Despite Jenkins’ advanced age, officials said there’s no evidence he might be the Geezer Bandit — an elderly-looking man who robbed 16 banks between 2009 and 2011, according to the Associated Press.
Authorities suspect that robber was a younger man wearing a mask.

Mother Forces Teenage Daughter To Get Pregnant

Via BusinessWeek reports:

A woman desperate for another child forced her 14-year-old daughter to get pregnant using syringes of donor sperm, a British judge said.In a ruling reported for the first time Monday, High Court judge Peter Jackson said the mother had behaved in “a wicked and selfish way” that almost defied belief. The judge said the woman, an American divorcee living in Britain with three adopted children, hatched the plan after she was prevented from adopting a fourth.

The scheme involved getting her oldest daughter to inseminate herself with syringes of sperm purchased over the Internet from a Denmark-based company, Cryos International.Jackson said the daughter, identified only as A, “became pregnant at the mother’s request, using donor sperm bought by the mother, with the purpose of providing a fourth child for the mother to bring up as her own.”In his ruling, the judge quoted the teenager as saying said she was shocked by the suggestion, but thought, “If I do this … maybe she will love me more.”“My mum is a very determined person and she does her best not to let anything get in her way if she wants it,” the teenager added.

The judge said the mother also made the teenager use douches of vinegar or lemon and lime juice in hopes of increasing her chances of having a girl. The judge said it was likely but not certain that the daughter soon became pregnant and suffered a miscarriage.

After six more attempts with the donor sperm, she gave birth to a baby boy in July 2011, when she was 17.But midwives at the hospital became alarmed by the odd behavior of A’s mother. Her daughter wanted to breastfeed the baby, but her mother said: “We don’t want any of that attachment thing.”The hospital alerted the authorities, and the children were taken into foster care.

The mother is now serving a five-year jail term for child cruelty.Details of the case were heard during proceedings at the family division of the High Court over the children’s future last year. They were reported for the first time Monday after several British media organizations, including the publisher of The Guardian newspaper, challenged reporting restrictions.

A court order bars identifying the family members in order to protect the children.

The 17-year-old student told his parents that he was also in a relationship with Alexander, a full-time ninth-grade teacher at the school since 2010, reported ABC affiliate WVEC-TV.

While the teen was previously under Alexander’s watch, he currently attends a different school, a Newport News Public Schools spokeswoman told The Virginian-Pilot.

Officials didn’t immediately say how long Alexander had allegedly been sexting the teen, although they don’t believe they engaged in any inappropriate activity on school grounds.

TIPS FOR GETTING BIG BUSINESS LOANS

While lenders have different loan packages with varying conditions, these are general information they all require from borrowers

It is true that many people, including economists, have complained about the high interest rates entrepreneurs have to pay on loans. It is also true that business owners are decrying the difficulties they face in their quest to access credit facilities from banks.

The impression several entrepreneurs give is that if the nation’s financial institutions become very stable and strong, and are willing to give out loans with interest rates that are much lower than what is obtainable now, their funding challenges will be over.

But even if things improve as expected, experts warn business owners to realise that they cannot just walk into the bank and get loans because they run a business with ‘great prospects’. It goes beyond that. Banks are expected to (and will) ensure that certain things are in place before they grant your request.

Some of the information will be about the entrepreneur and his team, while others will be about the business. For you to succeed in your quest to get business loans some of the things you will be asked to provide and what the bank will look out for are highlighted below.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Before you get a loan, the bank will have you provide information about yourself. The information may cover such things as your background, educational qualification, work experience and address. You may also be asked to answer questions about your health and legal records. Surely, the bank would want to know if you have a criminal record or have been enmeshed in scandals and controversies, for instance.

While a bank will be less likely to give you a loan if you have a criminal record, for instance, experts strongly advise that you should avoid lying when asked to provide information because the bank is likely to find out in the course of its background check on you. Let’s say you own three different companies and you need additional funding for one. When you go to the bank, a question may be asked you is if you own other business. When this happen, even if you believe you stand a better chance of getting the loan if the other two remain unknown, tell the truth. By doing that, you still stand a chance, but when you lie and the truth is uncovered, it’s ‘request denied.’

STRENGTH OF MANAGEMENT TEAM

You may think this shouldn’t be the bank’s business, but it is. Top bank managers will tell you that as long as you have a management team that is incompetent, it means your business will stand little chance of recording growth, thereby risking failure. This, in turn, will make it impossible for you to repay the loan. That is not a situation any bank will be pleased to find itself in. So, to enhance your chances of getting that ‘seriously needed’ loan, ensure you have an impressive management team in place. It may make the management of the bank say, “With such a management team, we are sure to get our money back.”

CREDIT WORTHINESS

Banks run credit checks on entrepreneurs and companies before giving them loans. So, if you have been ‘notorious’ in your dealing with banks in the past, then brace yourself, the past is coming back to haunt you. Also, banks run credit bureau checks with the Central Bank of Nigeria, and if it is discovered that you are indebted to other banks, for instance, you may fail to achieve your goal. It is important that you are credit worthy and the CBN will have a say in that. So, find out what your credit rating is and if there is need to improve it, do so before sending in your loan application.

If you are already running the business, the bank will require a business credit report from you. It is important that you keep the report accurate as it will also have an impact on the process.

BUSINESS PLAN

Without a good business plan, you won’t get money from the bank. Banks will only approve your loan request if they know that your business is solid or that your plan has great prospects. So, in order to boost your chances of getting a business loan, have an excellent business plan. Your business plan should be designed in such a way that it is attractive and good and has projections.

TAX DETAILS

You will need to submit personal and business income tax returns generally for the past three years. You will likely have to also sign an authorisation form, so that the bank or lender can verify that what you said was filed with the Federal Inland Revenue Service was actually filed.

FINANCIAL STATEMENTS

Generally, all owners of businesses have to provide personal financial statements. So, you might as well start pulling that information together. The business will also need to provide current financial statements, including balance sheet, profit and loss, and sometimes a statement of cash flow.

BANK STATEMENT

You will need to provide personal and business bank statements for at least the past three months. Some lenders will require a full year’s worth of statements. Again, start pulling the information together, because you will need to provide it at some point.

PROOF OF COLLATERAL

The bank will want to see some kind of collateral for the loan. The bigger the loan or the higher the risk, the more collateral will be required. Prepare a statement that shows a list of all assets, along with descriptions and current fair market value.

LEGAL PAPERWORK

And, of course, you’re going to have to provide legal paperwork. Be ready –
