MAKING YOUR KIDS STORAGE ORGANISATION INTERESTING

A child's interests can change as frequently as his shoe size. With all the phases he's going through, it isn't surprising that his room can easily become disorganized and cluttered. Establishing order in a child's room can be a great opportunity to teach your child how to keep his room clean and organized. Implementing some simple kids' storage and organization guidelines will help you and your child sort out the mess. With the right kids' furniture, you can create a storage system that gives your child a relaxing space all of his own.

1.       PURGE AND SORT: Because children grow so quickly, it may only take a season for them to build up a pile of outgrown garments. The same is true for toys and decor. Organizing her things means relinquishing the items she no longer needs. Box up old clothing, toys and other items for donation or sale. Sort the things she wants and uses into categories such as clothing, accessories, toys, books and decorations.

2.       LIMIT TOYS: To reduce clutter, you can limit the number of toys in a child's room to only the ones he or she still plays with frequently. Keep favorite or special toys where your child can have easy access to them. Donate old toys or store them in a closet or other storage area.

3.       KEEP CLEANUP SIMPLE: To make sure the room remains in order, it needs to be easy for the child to keep it clean on her own. Complicated organizational systems can discourage a child from cleaning up after her. Make sorting simple with an easy system, like one bin for large toys and one for small. Make sure every item has a proper place, so your child knows where it goes when it's time to put it away.

4.       STORE THINGS AND MAKE SENSE: The best way to make the most efficient room possible for your child is to keep each item in the area where it will be used. For example, keep clothing, accessories and a mirror near the closet or dresser. Store books and other educational items in a bookcase near the desk. Keep toys in a toy box or storage bins away from the bed, designating that space for sleep and not play. Anything used infrequently can be stored on shelves in clear, plastic containers for easy recognition.

5.       Give your child a say in the way the room is organized. Including your child in the organization process will empower and encourage him to keep it clean.

If you need more storage space in the room, you can purchase a storage bed or elevate the bed and utilize the space underneath the bed for extra storage room.

Kids love to climb, jump and run. To prevent accidents, make sure shelving and other top-heavy kids' furniture is secured to the wall. Fasten wall hangings to studs with proper hardware. Keep heavy items off high shelves to prevent them from falling on top of a child.

BEYONCE IS THE NEW FACE OF H & M

Clothing giant H&M has lowered its standards and named Beyonce as the new face of its Summer 2013 women’s line, Hollywoodlife reports.

H&M is introducing Beyonce in the new campaign as, “Beyoncé as Mrs. Carter in H&M.” Her images will be featured in print and television ads. The ads were shot in Nassau, Bahamas by photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

Creative director Donald Schneider describes the campaign as an “epic fantasy, with glamour, drama, and also a sense of paradise.” Yes, “epic fantasy” is about right.

Beyonce who touched off a near riot by telling her fans to “Bow Down Bitches”, recorded a new song exclusively for the H&M campaign, titled, “Standing On The Sun”. H&M’s marketing department calls Beyonce “the ideal icon of women empowerment,” lol.

“I’ve always liked H&M’s focus on fun and affordable fashion. I really loved the concept we collaborated on to explore the different emotions of women represented by the four elements – fire, water, earth and wind. It was a beautiful shoot on a tropical island. It felt more like making a video than a commercial,” says Beyoncé, reading from a prepared script.

 

The track will be available for download sometime in May. But if it sounds anything like the horrific “Bow Down” demo, she might as well stick to modeling off-the-rack clothing because her recording career is over.

International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8th every year. It is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future.

1.SELF DEFENCE MOVES: The knowledge of self-defense could mean the difference between life and death. Every woman should know how to protect herself effectively against attackers, rapists, or anyone else trying to do you harm. All you have to do is S.I.N.G. If you’ve ever seen the film Miss Congeniality, you may know what I’m talking about. S.I.N.G. stands for Solar Plexus, Instep, Nose, and Groin. Targeting any of these sensitive spots on the body will help hurt and eventually distract your attacker, giving you time to run away.

2. DEALING WITH CRAMPS: It’s that time of the month again and what presents do we get besides bloating and crankiness? Woman’s worst enemy: cramps. Luckily, there’s a few ways that us girls can cope with this pain, some things to try are a heating pad or hot water bottle on your stomach to help relax the muscles.

3. ACCESSORIES: The number one rule for accessories that every woman should know is that less is more. You can wear statement earrings or a statement necklace, but not both. Your accessories should compliment the outfit and the colour scheme of the outfit.

4. CHANGING YOUR OWN TIRE: Okay ladies, we can do this! It’s actually a very simple process. First of all and probably most obvious; make sure that your parking break is on and that the car will not roll.

Now, raise the jack so it is supporting the car. Remove the hubcap and unscrew and remove the lug nuts doing one then the one opposite of it until all are removed. Now you can remove the flat tire. Put the new tire onto the wheel studs with the air valve facing out. After that you can replace the lug nuts in the same pattern that you took them off (make sure they’re tight!). Put the hubcap back on and lower the jack. You’re finished!

5. FINDING THE RIGHT BRA SIZE: Did you know that more than 50% of women wear the wrong bra size? It’s very easy to find your right size. To start, wear a comfortable bra without padding. Take the measuring tape and measure around your chest right underneath your breasts. This measurement is your band size (if it’s an odd number then add 1"). Next, measure around your breasts at the fullest part. Take that number and subtract it from your band size. Every inch is a cup

SUNSCREEN IS YOUR BEST FRIEND: Ah, the magical powers of sunscreen. Not only does it protect against skin cancer, but it also helps anti-aging. 7. STAYING SAFE ONLINE: Today, in the age of Facebook and Twitter and tons of other dating sites, it’s very easy to slip up and give away some precious information. Posting information, such as your address, where you are, or when you aren’t going to be home, can be remarkably dangerous. Be smart about what you say and what details you give on the web. Make your web page private and so only people you know can see what you post. If it’s not private always ask yourself, would I tell this to a complete stranger?

 

8. CPR: Be a hero, know your CPR. To start, check the person for breathing, by tilting their head back. If there is no breathing then you start mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Plug their nose and cover their mouth with yours and breath 2 breaths into them, each breath being about 1 second long. Now look for responsiveness; breathing, coughing, or moving should occur, if not, start chest compressions. Place your hands in the middle of the person’s nipples and pump your hands up and down 1 ½ inches to 2 inches with each pump being less than 1 second. Do this 30 times. Repeat both steps until help arrives.

 

9: PREVENTING HEART DISEASE: Heart disease is the number one killer of woman in the world. Luckily there are many ways to prevent it. Tobacco and stress contribute massively to heart disease so try your best to stay smoke-free and de-stressed. Having a good diet will help too, you are more likely to have heart disease if you have high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, or are obese.

 

10: SELF BREAST EXAM: Spotting breast cancer early on can save your life. You always do a self-breast exam lying down. When checking your right breast, place your right palm under your head and use the left hand to check. Use the pads of your three middle fingers and go in a circle motion overlapping to check for bumps. You’ll need to use different types of pressure; light for the tissue closest to the skin, a mild pressure for deeper and firm pressure to feel the tissue closet to the chest and ribs. To make sure you check the whole breast, go in a line down the breast then a line right next to that line and so on. Repeat on right side. Call your doctor immediately if you find anything.

Curtain Trims for your desirable home

Curtain trims or passementerie is high quality decorative textile bands, which are an easy way to provide detail and smarten up a simple curtain or drapery. They range from tassels to cords, lace, velvet and ribbons. The most important thing to remember is to keep the scale, weight and proportion in keeping with the dimensions of the curtain.

To follow are a few types that are available, most come in natural fibers and synthetic fibers, the luxury end of trims are often made from silk or linen. Often rayon or viscose is added to cotton or wool to provide sheen to them.

Braid

Is a woven ornamental trimming that has two finished edges, it is a flat border. It was popular for placing over finished edges of upholstery on chairs.

Gimp

This has looped or scalloped edges and is a narrow type of braid. It is often used to cover over upholstery tacks on chairs.

Piping

Piping Is a product that can be stitched into the seam of a curtain. It is a fabric-covered cord in a pipe like fold over cord with a narrow flange. It provides a subtle detail to drapery and is a good way of introducing a highlight color. It is used extensively with cushions and not as popular with curtains because it is labor intensive to make.

 

Buttons

Buttons can be covered in fabric or selected off the shelf, they are used to pull two pieces of fabric together for example a cushion pulled in the center, or create a design – the back of a chair can be buttoned creating a padded look i.e. Chesterfield.

With curtains they can be used with French Pleats to hold the pleat together at the base and create a stunning look if used in a contrasting color. They are often used on tiebacks, and are a decorative feature on valances when used to hold tassels.

Cord

This comes in almost any fiber imaginable and multiple colors, is usually thick and twisted rope, generally used as a tieback, it can be used as a simple trim. It can be one color or several colors twisted together. It is used for tiebacks and tassels.

Jacquard Border

A flat braid that has been woven on a jacquard loom.

Tassel Fringe

This is a looped fringe with a tassel skirting. It creates an effective finish to the leading edge of a curtain, the bottom edge of a blind and is frequently used on the lower edge of scarf drapery and sometimes decorative valances.

Frog

Loops of silk covered wire or wrapped cords of oriental decent.
