Yes it’s  Fashion week
Occasionally a style comes along which changes the entire direction of the fashion industry. Coco Chanel, Audrey Hepburn, and Marilyn Monroe redefined fashion during the “Golden Age of Hollywood” with halter-top dresses, the famed “little black dress”, and Capri pants. These queens of fashion were fearless in their notions that defied the fashion norms of their day. Now the short summer dress, not quite a sundress, but not quite a mini skirt either, has stormed the fashion scene and every designer has his or her own unique interpretation of what one should look like. If you want a terrific look, the dress offers so many different styles so you will never run out of options of how to wear it.

From fearless, shoulder-less styles, to dainty keyholes and exotic patterns, the Stylish Eve designers have created a short dress look for every occasion and style that you could ever want.

Kitchen Safety for Children on Their Own

It's estimated that roughly 7 million children world wide are "on their own" or are "cared for by a sibling" for short periods of time after school. Often the kitchen is the first place children go when they get home. What are the most important food and safety facts that children should know? Here are some clues to kitchen safety that you will want to remember.

1. Hands carry lots of germs. The first step in food safety is to wash your hands before making or eating a snack. All you need is a little soap and water. Make sure the water is warm, and lather up. Scrub the back and front of your hands, between the fingers and don't forget your fingernails. Wash for at least 20 seconds. Then rinse under running water and dry with a clean towel.

This may sound nice but not necessary. Proper hand washing, however, could save you from becoming ill.

2. Wash all fruits and vegetables before eating ... use just clear, clean water-no soap.

3. When using a knife to cut your food, always cut away from your body.

4. Microwave cooking is fast but can cause serious burns. Check with a grown-up for specific directions before using the microwave oven. Some general tips for safe microwaving include:

Never turn on an empty oven. This can cause the oven to break.

Read package directions carefully. Make sure you know how to set the microwave oven controls (for example, 10 seconds, rather than 10 minutes).

 Use only microwave-safe cookware.

Food coming out of the microwave can be very hot. Never pop any food right from the microwave into your mouth. Allow the food to cool for several minutes before eating. This includes letting microwave popcorn set a few minutes before opening; then open the bag so the opening is pointing away from you. Steam from the bag can cause serious bums.

Food gets hot in the microwave. Have potholders handy to remove hot dishes.

5. Hot liquids, not fire, are the most common cause of burns to children. If you get burned working in the kitchen:

a) Go to the sink and hold the burned area under cool, running water.

b) If the burn begins to blister cover it loosely with a sterile gauze, or a clean cloth.

c) Tell a grown-up whenever you are burned. If the burn is severe and hurts badly, get help from an adult immediately.

6. Germs grow quickly in foods that are not stored properly (i.e. milk, lunch meat, hard-cooked eggs, yogurt or foods left out on the counter at room temperature). Put these foods back in the refrigerator as soon as you've fixed your snack.

7. Discard foods like bread, cheese, jelly, fruits, vegetables or any other foods that have mold spots or look bad. Fruits and vegetables that are shriveled or have soft spots should be thrown away.

8. If you spill something, take the time to clean it up properly.

9. To use a toaster safely:

Keep the toaster away from curtains or towels or other things that could catch fire.

Plug it directly into the electrical outlet. Avoid using adapters with many other appliances plugged into the same outlet. Unplug toasters and other kitchen appliances when not using them.

If toast gets stuck, unplug the toaster. Do not use any object to remove the toast from the toaster.

Toasters can catch on fire. If you see flames from any kitchen appliance, tell a grown-up immediately. If an adult is not home, call 911.

10. Use a stove only if you have been trained to use it by an adult. Keep things that will burn away from the stove. Towels, potholders, plastics and paper towels can all catch fire quickly when near direct heat or flames.

Keep an eye on the stove when cooking food. Turn pan handles away from the front so someone can't knock them off while walking by. Always turn off the stove when you're done cooking.

11. If something on the stove catches fire:

a) Smother the fire with a lid.

b) Turn off the burner.

c) Once the fire is out, tell an adult there was a fire.

d) Leave the house and call 911 if the fire has leaping flames.

DO NOT THROW BAKING SODA, SALT, WATER OR FLOUR ON A FIRE.

DO NOT CARRY A BURNING OBJECT TO ANOTHER ROOM

Why We Sneeze — 10 Facts About Sneezing

Sneezing is caused by many factors and it must not be associated just with a breathing problem. Sneezing occurs in response to an irritant in the nasal passages. When the nasal passages are irritated, it signals the brain to respond by coordinating the muscles to respond with a forceful expulsion of air to remove the irritant. The irritant that initiates th...e sneeze can be a variety of things from allergens, dust, mold, or chemical irritants. Of course you also sneeze when you have a cold or a viral infection. As tiny as they are, viruses can cause a great deal of nasal swelling and irritation that can trigger sneezing.

Although your eyes can’t pop out if you sneeze, nor your heart will stop breathing. However, suppressing a hard sneeze can cause a blood vessel rupture in your head or neck which will ultimately lead to death while on the other carrying it out can also result into a rib fracture.

Meet Woman That Married Herself After Being Tired Of Waiting For Mr. Right!

Nadine Schweigert married herself in a beautiful ceremony attended by 300 guests.
The 36-year-old divorced mom of three wore blue satin and clutched a bouquet of white roses as she walked down the aisle before a gathering of 45 friends and family members in Fargo, North Dakota. She vowed to “to enjoy inhabiting my own life and to relish a lifelong love affair with my beautiful self”.

After the ring was exchanged with the bride and her inner-groom, guests were encouraged to “blow kisses at the world,” and later, eat cake.
“I feel very empowered, very happy, very joyous … I want to share that with people, and also the people that were in attendance, it’s a form of accountability,” Nadien Schweigert said.
Schweigert said the ceremony was a celebration of how far she’d come since her painful divorce six years ago that led to her two children to decide to live with her ex-husband.

Mom arrested for hiring strippers for 16yr old son's birthday party

For hiring strippers for her son's 16th birthday, a New York mum has been arrested and faces up to one year in prison if convicted.

33 year old Judy Viger hired two strippers (seen above with her son) to perform at her son's birthday, where there were plenty under age children. The mother of one of the party goers who found it inappropriate reported Judy to the police who arrested and charged her with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child. They said she endangered not only the welfare of her own child, but the welfare of the 14 and 15 year old children that were at the party. She will appear in court March 7th.

Shared bedroom.... a baby and preschooler in one bedroom

http://blessingheartt.blogspot.com
http://blessingheartt.blogspot.com

Many children share rooms, and putting a baby and preschooler into one bedroom is a common challenge for many of our customers. So how do you make a nursery that’s sweet enough for baby, but also works for big sister? There are certainly a lot of ways to go about doing this, but I think the key is to edit, edit, edit. Functionally you need a lot of stuff in this room, so the simpler the design elements the better.
http://blessingheartt.blogspot.com

Start with the textiles. If you like the idea of themed bedding set (Princess, Zoo, Solar System) that’s definitely an option. But, choose a themed set for ONLY the crib or the bed, but not both. For example, if big sis wants a Princess & the Pea Quilt, go with that, and then choose a simpler textile for the crib that pulls some of the colors from the Princess Quilt but doesn’t have a theme of its own. Conversely, if you want a circus crib set, then choose a more classic pattern for the big kid bed, like plaids or dots.
We often opted to stick with a common color and not incorporate a theme into the bedding. The aqua is serene enough for baby, but still packs enough punch to be a playful choice for big sis. It would work nicely for a boy/girl version of the room as well.

Choose one element in the space that has a lot of color, then you can pull from that for the other pieces in the room. In this case, the rug is the focal point. I recommend a plush wool rug that baby can play on and will hold up to a lot of abuse. The design of this rug will definitely grow with the children. Down the road you can incorporate more bits of navy and purple or even red, so it gives a lot of flexibility.

Also, it’s important to make the space flexible. One afternoon it might be a place for baby to learn to crawl. The next, big sis may transform it into a tea party for her dolls. So, think about options like poufs or a Nod Chair that can be easily dragged around by the kids to transform the space.

And to decorate the space, decals are a really nice option. Again, they’re flexible so you can change them as your kids’ tastes evolve and change. Another option would be a gallery wall where you can incorporate a mix of photographs, art and creations made by your children. This can be flexible and change over time as well. Also, it’ll give both kids a place to express themselves in the room.

Lastly, any of the above could also work for a nursery/guest room. We see the need for these spaces quite frequently. Using the above ideas and healthy dose of editing, you can make a space that works equally well for the daily routine of a nursery and holiday visits from Grandma.

Throwing a party for kids is always an adventure. Planning is the key to success in every way. So what exactly is best way to plan for a Valentine's Day party for kids? First you need a theme, the theme can be childhood sweethearts, Sponge Bob, flowers, Veggie Tales, whatever you want. Second, you should plan out a few details such as time, location, etc. Third, you will want to order Valentine's Day cards and party invitations. Be sure to check out our free RSVP manager when you order invitations through us to manage your party guest list. Fourth, you'll want to start planning your Valentine's Day party decorations.

Valentine's Day party decorations are probably the most fun part of party planning. With your theme in mind, you can go anywhere with this! Remember that the overall theme for the party is Valentine's Day, so you will want your Valentine's Day party decorations to all fit into this as well as your sub-theme of Sponge Bob or childhood sweethearts. You can do this by purchasing heart-shaped balloons to mix into balloons with your theme on them, or making heart-shaped cupcakes with Sponge Bob on them.

You can also use your kid's Valentine's Day party decorations to spice up the location of the party. If your theme is Sponge Bob then make a few huge Sponge Bob cut-outs for the wall with hearts, or find a picture of Sponge Bob with hearts coming out of his eyes when he sees something that he loves. You can also play "pin the Valentine on Sponge Bob" where your blindfolded guests attempt to pin a Valentine to Sponge Bob's hand. Virtually any party game can be played with a themed and Valentine's Day twist!

Valentine's Day parties for kids are fun and every child loves a good party. Just don't forget to plan games and take lots of photos!
