Blue and White Chic: Moldovan Loft Apartment by Grosu Art Studio

Blue-and-White-Chic-Moldovan-Loft-Apartment-by-Grosu-Art-Studio_01

A study in ice-blue and white: that’s the impression you’re likely to get when you view this loft-like apartment designed by GAS (Grosu Art Studio) and located in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova. The second undeniable impression you’re likely to get is unabashed modernism: even if nothing else was a clear indicator, the wavy light fixture that extends over the dining table would be a dead giveaway! Where are the ice-blue tones coming from? Trace them to a glossy blue wall in the kitchen, to blue stools before the eat-in island, to vivid couch cushions, bedding, and lounge chairs, all of which feature different gradations of true blue that both brighten the apartment and cool it at the same time. But never fear — touches of warmth are here, too, to balance all that chic coolness.

Wide-planked wood flooring contributes a rustic feel and unifying factor throughout. More warm color comes by way of contemporary art: surreal portraits bring bold reds, yellows, oranges, and even purples into the mix, while plants tucked away on high shelves and in bedside planters spice up the pure white with cheerful green. One bed is a simple cushioned platform with squared pillows, while the other’s all plush and velvety; more textural interest shows itself in the design of chrome “vases” that seem to be built of curlicues, and an inviting gray rug beneath a white lounger. While the interior is minimalist, it’s not harsh, with floor-to-ceiling glass for great views — and privacy, when shielded behind sheer curtains at night. A young, fresh, and appealing look by day, and sophistication by night: that’s this loft by Grosu.

A Fun and Functional Kids’ Room: “e” by Nidi Design

A-Fun-Functional-and-Flexible-Kids’-Room-“e”-by-Nidi-Design_01

The lighted letters on the wall of this “e” room by Nidi Design say it all: “Play.” Nidi, an Italian design firm, has fans all over the world in kids — and their parents — because of its innovative, fun, and flexible designs. This room has everything: a space for work, in the clean-lined white desk and chair — and yellow-lined “cubes” on the wall for handy storage of books, papers, art materials, or whatever else strikes a child’s fancy. It’s got room for sleeping, with a neat platform bed covered in removable, washable fabrics that make staying neat a breeze. It’s even got space for self-expression, with a wardrobe from the Graphic collection surfaced in a way that lets kids jot notes, messages, or draw right on the “wall.”

Color? Of course; neutrals kids can love — blueberry, lemon, and gray — “bounce” off pure white with just the right amount of energy for creativity, but not too much for relaxation. And these colors aren’t just reserved for fabric accents — an open storage “tray” in blue has handy white legs, a clever match with the bedside table in the same hue, but sporting a white drawer. And, finally, there’s Nidi’s unique and very playful touch: walls with pockets! What could be handier in a kid’s room than having a wall with its own place to “stash” things that may not fit well anywhere else, such as the arrows for an archery enthusiast? The answer? No one else does it quite the same way. This is “play” — with style.

A Girl’s Bright Dream Room: Room b by Nidi Design

A-Girl’s-Bright-Dream-Room-“b”-by-Nidi-Design_01

A characteristic two-level layout and bold, bright color splashes make children’s rooms by Nidi Design popular with both kids and parents all over the world — and in this room, called “b,” it’s easy to see why. It has everything a kid needs: a bed, a desk, a comfy sitting space on the floor, and — of course — a ladder to a second level from which you can look down at the rest. Take a look through a large open “doorway” from outside and you’ll see the white four-poster; rest assured this doesn’t look like Grandma’s four-poster bed! Against the palette of pure white, its soft touches are purple and gray pillows — one heart-shaped — and a pale blue coverlet. For those stay-up-past-your-bedtime book evenings, it’s got a white cube bedside table with handy reading lamp.

And, as with all Nidi rooms, this one gives you plenty of storage, not only in drawers on the bedside table, but also in handy rectangular cubbies on the wall — a set of these cubbies, four across and down on another wall, is a mix of open and door-covered storage, while the support for the second level is a built-in storage unit of both tall cabinets and cubbies at one end (some with their own doors). This girl loves red, too: look at the neat stacked “suitcase” style boxes on the closet shelf, above a rack of bright clothing. Having friends over? You can lounge on pillows on the floor, or perch on kid-sized ottomans of blue and purple. It’s a fun room, one with lots of possibilities for work and play: “b” by Nidi Design.

Man Stabbed To Death By 16-Year-Old Wife For Beating Her

A domestic dispute between a wife and her husband has resulted in the death of the latter in Akure, the Ondo State capital. Patrick Ogu, 35, was allegedly stabbed to death by his 16-year-old wife and mother of his two children, Ebere while he was giving her a beating.

The incident occurred at the couple's residence at No.70, Ijapo extension residence in Akure at about 5a.m on Thursday morning. Ebere has since fled and is on the run with her two children. A co-tenant, who gave his name as Kelechi, said: "Ebere and Patrick frequently engage in fights but on Thursday, October 17, at 5a.m., the couple began to fight. "Most times they engage in such fights, I go there to settle it. But on this fateful morning, when I got into their room I saw Ebere holding a knife against her husband so I pleaded with her to drop the knife and pleaded with Patrick not to beat his wife. "At the first attempt I succeeded in separating them.
So Ebere dropped the knife. But as soon as Patrick saw that his wife had dropped the knife, he seized the opportunity to pounce on her and gave her another beating. "I told Patrick to stop, but I noticed that when he tried to move away he slumped and that was when I screamed for help and called other members of the house. "When we entered the apartment we realised that Patrick was already on the floor. So people began to urge Ebere to lift her husband up. She eventually did and we saw that the father of two was already bleeding. "We were all shocked and most of the people took to their heels.

Ebere escaped with her two kids to an unknown destination." Police image-maker, Wole Ogodo, confirmed the ugly incident. Ogodo said: "One Mr. Tuyi, who is the landlord of the house the couple lived in, reported the incident to the Police Station on Thursday 17, at 6.45a.m. Ogodo said that policemen are searching for the suspected killer, while the corpse of the deceased had been deposited at the Akure State Specialist Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Housewife Dies During Sexual Intercourse With Neighbour

This happened recently in Badagry area Lagos State, where a housewife died during sex with her neighbour, who is also married to another woman. The man, Lawrence Chukwuma, landed in trouble after he had sex with Mrs Lucy Joseph, 24 and the woman died in the process.
The incident happened at Oke-Morosun Magbon area of Badagry. On the fateful day, the 48-year old Chukwuma from Anambra State, southeast Nigeria, reportedly woke up early and pretended that he was going to pursue his business and later came back when his own wife and Lucy’s husband had gone out.
It was gathered that while Chukwuma and Lucy were having the best of time, she suddenly started breathing heavily and became unconscious. Before Lucy was taken to hospital, she had already died and the doctors merely confirmed her dead.
It was not certain what actually caused her death, but her body has been deposited at the Badagry General Hospital for autopsy. The matter was reported at the Badagary police division and Chukwuma, who also has three children, was arrested and the matter was transferred to SCID, Panti, Yaba for further investigation. After investigation, the police charged him to Ebute-meta Magistrate’s court for causing Lucy’s death through unlawful carnal knowledge of her. His plea was not taken.
The court ordered him to be remanded in prison custody at Ikoyi pending the outcome of the autopsy report and DPP’s advice. When P.M.NEWS visited the home of the deseased, the husband was not around to comment on the matter. The younger sister of the deseased, Blessing Ebieme, said she came from her house in Ikorodu area to Badagry to take care of the children Lucy left behind.
Lucy hailed from Eket in Akwa Ibom State and had three children, Joy, 12, Isaiah 10, and Miracle, 5.

The beauty of sleep...Keep kids in their bedroom

My four-year-old daughter comes into our bedroom a few times every night. We've tried the Silent Return to bed, but after many trips to her room, we cave. Should we be more consistent?
We're not perfect. We're parents. That's real life. I think that when parents are perfect is if they are 80% consistent in how they respond to their children. But sometimes parents have to put forth extra effort in order to outlast unwanted behaviors. It's not easy to extinguish behaviors by ignoring them. Always remember that there is a direct connection between how you treat your children and how they behave.

Perhaps your son recently had some disruption of his schedule that got him off track. If you're caving after several Silent Returns to his bed, then you are teaching your son to try several times. Your son knows that he will hit the jackpot eventually. When mom or dad perseveres and always outlasts the child, then you will solve the sleep problem. If you stop rewarding the behavior, the behavior will disappear. My guess is that it will now take about 4-5 nights.

When sleeping is short from illnesses, vacations, or holidays, then immediately after the disruption passes, become super consistent (100%) with Silent Return to sleep and your child and family should recover within 1-2 nights. Don't delay or drag it out hoping for a miracle, because then when you do try it, it might take 4-5 nights

WHY TAKE A NAP???

http://blessingheartt.blogspot.com

Makes you smarter: According to Dr. Matthew Walker of the University of California, there is nothing better than taking a one-hour naps to restore short-term memory and helps you learn the facts more easily after waking.

Cannot avoid the period of meals: Human bodies naturally go through two stages of deep fatigue, one between 02.00 to 04.00 am and from 01.00 to 03.00 pm. Skipping meals will not help you in this period of decreased alertness and coordination.

Pick the right time: After lunch in the afternoon, his body naturally gets tired. This is the best time to take a short nap, as it is early enough to change not sleep at night.

However, short naps are the best: For healthy young adults, naps as short as 20, 10, or even 2 minutes may be all you need to get the mental benefits of sleep without the risk of drowsiness.

First drink coffee: The way this works is that you drink a cup of coffee just before taking his nap of 20 minutes or half an hour, which is precisely the time it takes to produce its effect caffeine, when you awake, not only refreshed, ready to work.

NASA’s Nap: A group called NASA discovered that only a 26-minute nap increases performance by 34% and alertness by 54%. Pilots do naps advantage of NASA, while planes are on autopilot.

A nap can save your life: A multi-year Greek study found that napping at least three times a week for at least 30 minutes resulted in a mortality rate 37% lower due to heart problems.

Nap benefits your brain: Not only nap improves alertness, but also help your decision making, creativity and sensory perception.

But wait there is more: Studies have found that napping increases energy by 11%, increases the ability to stay asleep through the night by 12%, and reduces the time required to fall asleep by 14%.

Last Nap: According to Dr. Sara Mednick, the best nap occurs when REM sleep is in proportion to the slow wave sleep. That’s the best time of the day when I can take a nap at maximum.

Fight over weight: Research shows that women who slept five hours a night are 32% more likely to experience weight gain than those who sleep seven hours. A two-hour nap is not feasible for many, but a nap is a good way to make up for some lost sleep night.

Do you not know? In ancient Rome, everyone, including children, left to take a nap for 2 or 3 hours after lunch. No doubt this is why the Roman Empire lasted over 1,000 years.

Sugar is not a friend of naps: When we are tired, instinctively eat foods high glycemic index, but after the initial energy vanishes, we can only more tired than we had before.

A way to update: If you take long sleep I recommend a midday nap is a good way to catch up on sleep.

A student: Freshmen and sophomores need up to 10 hours of sleep to feel rested.

Do not drive sleepy: Do not be afraid to take advantage of an “emergency nap” on the side of the road in your car. Each year, about 100,000 fatal traffic accidents are caused by people driving while sleepy.

Einstein Method: If you are worried about sleeping too long, do what Albert Einstein did with regularity: hold a pencil while you’re drifting off, so when you fall asleep, launching pencil will help up. (Not guaranteed to wake up with an IQ of 180.)

Lack of sleep: For those 18 to 24, sleep deprivation affects performance more significantly than in other age brackets.
